Men Who Want To Look Their Best
Google searches for men’s skincare routines have risen by 400 per cent over the last five years and men are moving beyond basic grooming. The male beauty industry is finally on the rise.
A brand does not need to be exclusively masculine to win over male customers, and some would argue that a unisex approach is the modern approach. With two of our leading skincare brands being created by men (for both women and men) Augustinus Bader and Julien Azencott for CODAGE, we ask our leading men, for their go-to wellness and skincare tips.

What is your favourite quote to live by?
What does ‘living naturally’ mean to you?
Following my four pillars: Sleep, move, eat home cooked, meditate.
What does a typical day in the wellness world look like for you?
- following circadian rhythm - Eating before sunset – up at sunrise.
- morning yoga and meditation (90 mins – 7days)
- 10 – 15K steps or 2-3 hours a day of physical work, can be gardening, cleaning or washing
- Family time
- Work time
- Balance
What are your top 3 tips for staying fit and healthy
- Focus on quality sleep – sleep is medicine - no gadgets after 10pm and until after breakfast
- Move – yoga, meditation and strength training
- Breathe deep and slow.
What do you do to ‘reset’ the balance button when life gets a bit hectic?
Meditation will bring such a state (conscious and complete rest) for a longer time and that is why 15-20 minutes of meditation can equate to 2-3 hours of sleep. I follow this prior to dinner.

What is a favourite quote you live by?
I have two favourite mantras I never tire of: 'embrace chaos' and 'surrender and release'.
What does 'living naturally' mean to you?
Live authentically, trends and fads come and go, always follow your instinct, the inner voice.
What does a typical day in the wellness world look like for you?
People imagine working in a spa is all 'Zen and Om'. We run a business and we need to ensure we can still manage in a holistic manner, ensure the team is cared for and our guests experience sanctuary. Our environment is safe, warm, welcome and guests leave feeling substantially better than when they arrived.
What are your top 3 tips for staying fit and healthy?
I practice “contrast therapy”, every shower is hot and cold, with breathwork, this boosts your immune system, I never have colds or flu, assists with musculoskeletal tension and picks up your mood.
I also meditate every morning before work, 10-15mins, sets me up for the day. and walking to and from work every day, 20minutes rain or shine.
What do you do to ‘reset’ the balance button when life gets a bit hectic?
Have a massage, a floatation, or sound therapy session.
What does a typical day in the wellness world look like for you?
I absolutely endorse looking after one's skin. As I am over 50, I like to think I am in some way slowing down with the aging process. I prefer to use the term healthy aging as opposed to anti-aging.
Although I follow quite an intensive skincare regime I believe easy is best. Use your cleanser and facial scrub in the shower. Find serum that suits your skin type and age. Finish with a moisturiser. Following these simple steps are a great start to great skin.
What are your must-have skin care products?
CODAGE Paris is my go-to. A great range that is adaptogenic, and provides suitable product options with botanical nutri-elements dependent on how your skin feels. It responds seasonally and based on environmental factors.
To me, cleansing is so important, I love the CODAGE Cleansing Gel. An incredibly small amount is needed, that foams and is sufficient for a thorough cleanse of the face, use morning and night.
